Hi Levent! One of the applications is to bring back a 50 ml water sample for Water Quality Testing. The reason that we combined UAV and water sample collection is that UAVs have excellent advantages in vast operation space, low cost, high speed, and high flexibility. It let us collect water samples from coastal, lake, reservoir, etc. rapidly and cheaper.
The water sample collector module can release the water sample collector to a maximum 2 meters depth of water and take it back, while the water sample collector whose valves can be remotely opened or closed.
Many thanks!

Nice idea. You could also think about tailoring your drone to the role of first responders in accident/emergency situations for hazardous/hard-to-reach locations. With a niche application area such as that, you could then also focus on new ways to increase the payload while keeping flight time roughly the same. All the best!

What do you mean by professional UAV pilots?

Hi Li! During the research, we found that many UAV delivery systems required licensed professional UAV pilots because the systems weighed exceeded 7-kilograms. This makes UAV delivery systems challenging to popularize to the general public or even Small and Medium Enterprises. Therefore, we aim to build a below 7-kilograms multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle that can carry various type of goods, collect water samples, and at the same time makes flight control more user-friendly to users.
Many thanks!

Any localization technology is used in UAV so that the app can obtain its location?

Hi Benny! Yes! The UAV has a GNSS Module (NEO-M8) connected to the flight controller. The module’s ultimate accuracy is 0.6 meters, actually almost 0.9 meters. The flight controller will use it for hover, also transmit the data to the ground station (the app).
Many thanks!
