This is indeed a very interesting and impactful project!
May I ask how the WiFi modem connects to the internet? Will it be via a wired connection on ground or a satellite? Also, can the Winko Box support more than one smartphone?
Of course! It is actually through 3G. We have a partnership with KaiOS, who has wireless internet services deployed there already, so we are able to use their facilities! The Winko Box can support more than one smartphone, but most people would not want to use that much data. I have created a dashboard for the users to see how much they are using it, and they can plan their consumption accordingly!
Thank you so much! Hopefully the users enjoy Winko Box 1.0 itself, if they do, then yes, we will simply make some upgrades and deploy it on a large scale. However, if there is something they absolutely need us to change, we might have to make Winko Box 2.0!

This is a really good step to take and is very innovative.
Yes there is! Unfortunately, before such a solution, the only time for people to study/do work that involved light was during the day. Therefore, the Winko Box also has a battery that is charged by solar power during the day, so that the lights can be powered by this energy long after it is dark!
Very impressive and impactful project!

Thanks for the information, it’s great to know more about the project! 😃
Thank you for your kind words!
What a meaningful project! So you are going to make a Winko Box 2.0 very soon? Or just do some upgrades?

Great Work Anushka.
Thank you Prabhansh – likewise! Loved your project, congratulations!
Nice. Is there a battery for extended usage after dark?
